Project #1: Footprint Introduction

Description: This footprint activity was used so we could get to know our classmates. We started by tracing on of our feet and then added different elements that described who we are. We were required to use at least 3 different media (markers, pictures, stickers).

On my foot project I had my dogs and a picture of an otter because those are my favorite animals. I had my family and the capital because I'm from Pierre, SD. I also had a book and movies because I like to read and watch shows/movies. I had images of concerts I've been to because I love going to concerts and also traveling different places. I had an apple, weights, and a basketball to represent my major of elementary education and my minor of coaching.

Extension Activity: As an extension of the footprint project, students will participate in a "Gallery Walk & Reflection" activity. After all footprints are displayed around the room, students will walk around, view their classmates' projects, and leave positive sticky note comments or questions on each other's work. After the walk, each student will select one classmate’s footprint that stood out to them and write a short reflection comparing similarities and differences between their own interests and experiences. This extension promotes appreciation of diverse backgrounds, encourages meaningful peer interaction, and strengthens classroom relationships.
